As we head into the Thanksgiving holiday, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the highs and lows of the year. Through the trials of yet another year impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, we have lost friends, family members, neighbors, and former clients. In spite of the pandemic, we carried on in our mission to represent each client's interests to the best of our abilities. The Moss law team became much more proficient with ZOOM, Cisco WebEx, and Microsoft Teams in our interactions with the public and the courts. Technology has been such an excellent bridge to the outside world, helping us remain socially distanced but also connecting us to provide access to justice for our valued clients.
Sadly, my father, John Paul Moss, passed away this year after a long battle with cancer, and my mother, sisters, family, friends, and I laid him to rest in October in his hometown of Longview, Texas.
It has been a bittersweet year for many reasons.
Through it all, I am thankful for the continued support of our clients who were incredibly gracious to me during my period of bereavement.
I am also appreciative of the professionalism and diligence of the clerks, coordinators, court staff, and administration of the Fort Bend, Harris, Dallas, and Collin County District and County Clerks' offices. We cannot represent our clients without their help, and they have been consistently excellent in carrying out their duties. No amount of praise adequately describes my appreciation for what they do every day.
Also, none of our legal work would be possible without our terrific vendors, including notaries, couriers, and front office staff. They rose to the challenge and helped us execute wills with remote signing ceremonies, hand delivered sensitive documents, and kept us informed and connected through what has been a challenging and hectic year. My hat goes off to of counsel attorney, Pamela Lyle, our bookkeeper and office manager Gloria French, and our front office receptionist Jan Gonzales. Teamwork truly makes the dream work, and I pray that we will continue to work together to ensure the best outcomes for our clients in the years to come.
We hope you have had an opportunity to spend time with your family and loved ones. It is always a good time to give thanks.
