Father's Rights Protected in Contested Divorce
March 2016
In the Matter of the Marriage of T. H. and L.D., our client was a recovering alcoholic whose wife was seeking a divorce and sole custody of their only child during a lengthy divorce case. After preventing him from having access to his child for several weeks, we obtained a favorable Temporary Order at a contested hearing that allowed the father to have contact with his daughter while he attended AA meetings and monitored his blood alcohol periodically on his journey to sobriety. Ultimately, they reached an agreement on the disputed elements of their case and the two parents have a healthy co-parenting relationship to this day.
