A Few Thoughts from Kimberly Moss

Don’t Sign That Lease!

With the economy in the shape that it's in, many people are facing some tough times. Some of those people are homeowners, and some of these homeowners are sitting on a potential goldmine in the form of oil, gas, and minerals located beneath their property. A number of oil and gas drilling companies are aware of these resources and their value and are willing to give these homeowners a nominal amount to allow them to drill for these rare substances lying beneath their homes. Is there anything wrong with that? Certainly not.

Oil and gas exploration is a legal business that creates jobs for thousands of American workers. However, the owners and operators of these oil and gas companies have a vast amount of knowledge and expertise about what is happening beneath the earth's surface and what these commodities are worth. If  you are a landowner, you probably have only a vague idea of what is at stake if you are presented with an oil, gas, and mineral lease. If you'd like some guidance by an experienced oil and gas landman, please do not hesitate to contact this office. We'd be glad to speak to you about your lease and your rights!
